By Our University “2. International Invited Kapıdağ Visual Arts Exhibition” Opened

Organized by the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture of our university in cooperation with Erdek Municipality, the “2. International Invited Kapıdağ Visual Arts Exhibition” was opened. The opening of the exhibition held in Erdek Cumhuriyet Square was attended by our Rector Prof. Dr. Süleyman Özdemir, Erdek Mayor Burhan Mixed, our Vice Rector and also our Dean of the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture Prof. Dr. Celalettin Yanık, our Secretary General Cihangir Boz, the curators of the exhibition, our Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture academicians Assoc. Dr. Refik Yalur, Dr. Instructor Member İbrahim Yılmaz, Dr. Instructor Member Ersan Sarıkahya, representatives of non-governmental organizations, members of the press, students and many citizens attended.

The opening speech was made by our Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Celalettin Yanık, in the opening program of the exhibition, by our Rector Prof. Dr. Süleyman Özdemir also gave a speech. Our Rector said, “Last year, the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture was established within our university, and we admitted our first students to the 'Graphic Design' department. Our faculty, which we plan to open new departments in the coming periods, continues its activities very actively. In the past months, more than a thousand works from 52 countries were sent to the Bianel, which we realized online and broke new grounds in many subjects. Today, we are happy to be leading a beautiful art event again. Erdek and Kapıdağ are a very beautiful region that deserves such events with its nature and culture. We will continue our activities and exhibitions of this kind in the future. We would like to thank the Erdek Municipality for the support of the exhibition.” he said.

After the speeches, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held with the participation of all protocol members. Also at the ceremony, our Rector Prof. Dr. While Süleyman Özdemir presented a plaque to the Mayor of Erdek, Burhan Mix for their support to the exhibition, a gift was presented to our Rector by the Mayor Burhan Mix in memory of the day. The works exhibited later in the program were examined.
